Companies
Every company on Nectvia has a company page. Pages are created from the positions members add to their profiles, so a company page can exist before anyone from that company manages it. The Companies page lists them all.
Following a company
Choose Follow on a company page to follow it. The button then reads Following. Choose it again to stop following.
Your Home and Following feeds then show:
- posts the company publishes from its own AT Protocol account, if it has connected one;
- members who announce that they have joined the company.
A company page shows how many members follow it.
Following a company does not publish anything by itself. If you link an AT Protocol account, you can choose to publish the companies you follow, with the Companies you follow toggle. That toggle is off by default. Published company follows are publicly readable by anyone, including your current employer, and together they can read as a job search. See Publishing to your AT Protocol account.
Claiming a company page
A company page can be claimed once, by someone with a work email address at the company. Claiming makes you the owner of the page, so you can manage its jobs and applicants.
To claim a page:
- Choose Verify & claim on the company page.
- Enter your work email address at the company. The address must be at the company's own web domain.
- Enter the 6-digit code that Nectvia sends to that address, and choose Verify code.
- Choose Claim This Page.
If the company page has no web domain that can be checked, the page says "This company has no verifiable web domain yet." In that case you can choose Request to manage this company. You confirm your work email in the same way, and a Nectvia site admin reviews the request. If the request is approved, the company's web domain is set from your email address.
If the page is already claimed, you can ask for admin access instead. A company admin approves or denies the request.
Verification
There are two kinds of employment verification on Nectvia.
Work email. When you confirm a work email address at a company's domain, your position at that company shows as Verified employment (confirmed work email).
AT Protocol verification. A company that has connected its own AT Protocol account can verify its current employees. A company admin chooses Verify on AT Protocol next to an employee. Nectvia then publishes a verification record to the company's account. The employee's position shows as verified on Nectvia, and the verification is visible on Bluesky.
A company can verify only members who have a current position at the company and a linked AT Protocol account. A record is written only when an admin chooses to verify someone. When a member no longer has a current position at the company, the company sees them under Possibly left the company. Their verification stays until the company removes it.
Verifications you receive
Settings > Verifications lists the verifications other AT Protocol accounts have issued for you. They are grouped by who issued them:
- From your employers: shown as the verified badge on your position.
- From Bluesky's trusted verifiers and From verifiers Nectvia has chosen: shown on your profile. You can hide each one with Hide from my profile.
- From other accounts: anyone on the AT Protocol can verify an account, so these stay hidden until you choose Show on my profile.
Nectvia looks for new verifications once a day. Choose Refresh to look at once. If a verification looks wrong, choose Report issuer.
