Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Nectvia.
Using Nectvia means accepting them. If you do not, please do not use it.
Who we are
Nectvia is operated by:

Your account
You need an account to use most of Nectvia. To have one:
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- The information you give us at registration must be accurate.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself.
Some usernames are reserved and cannot be registered.
Signing up may require a place on the waitlist, or an invite code from an existing member. Invite codes expire, can be revoked by whoever issued them, and work exactly once.
Your content stays yours
You own what you write. Nectvia claims no ownership of your posts, articles, comments, messages, profile, or anything else you put here.
You give us permission to store your content and to show it to the people you have chosen to show it to, which is simply what is needed to run the service. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
We will not use your content to advertise to you, sell it, or hand it to anyone for advertising.
Publishing to your own AT Protocol repository
Nectvia can publish some of your data to a personal data server that you control. This is optional, off by default, and configurable per type of record.
- A repository is public. Anything published there can be read by anyone, including people who do not use Nectvia, and after you stop using it.
- What you publish is yours to manage. We write records to your repository at your instruction, and we only ever touch records we created ourselves. If you run another application against the same repository, its records are not ours to modify or delete.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time, from your settings.
Deletion is permanent and immediate. We cannot restore an account, its content or its connections. Please be sure.
Records already published to your own AT Protocol repository are not deleted, because that repository is yours rather than ours. Removing them is something you do through your own provider. The privacy policy explains this in more detail.
What you may not do
Do not use Nectvia to:
- Impersonate someone else, or misrepresent who you work for or what you have done.
- Harass, threaten or abuse anyone.
- Post unlawful content, or content you do not have the right to post.
- Break into, overload or interfere with the service or anyone else's account.
- Scrape or bulk-collect other people's data.
- Send spam, whether through posts, messages, connection requests or invitations.
Importing data from elsewhere
Nectvia can import a LinkedIn data export. That file contains information about other people: your connections' names, profile addresses and email addresses, and the text of messages you exchanged with them.
By importing it you confirm that the export is genuinely yours. We use the contacts in it to match people to accounts, as described in the privacy policy.
If someone asks us to remove data about them that arrived through an import, we will remove it. That is their right, and it does not require your agreement.
Paid features
Some features may require payment. Where they do:
- Prices and what you get are shown before you pay.
- Payments are handled by Mollie. We never see your card details.
- Subscriptions renew until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time.
- Cancelling stops future charges. It does not refund the current period unless the law says otherwise.
Moderation
We may hide or remove content, or suspend or remove an account, where these terms are broken. We will act proportionately, and where we can we will tell you why.
You can report a problem from within the app.
If Nectvia shuts down
If we ever have to close the service, we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can, and a way to get your data out before it goes.
If you have turned on publishing to your own AT Protocol repository, the records you chose to publish are already yours, on infrastructure we do not control, and closing Nectvia does not touch them.
This covers only the record types you actually switched on. Anything you did not publish exists only here, and switching publishing on is what changes that.
The service is provided as it is
We cannot promise that Nectvia will always be available, that it will be free of errors, or that no data will ever be lost. It is provided without warranties beyond those the law requires and does not allow us to exclude.
Nectvia is not a backup service. If something matters to you, keep your own copy.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost opportunities arising from your use of Nectvia.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we make a change that materially affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
If you do not accept a change, deleting your account is how you decline it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by German law, and the courts of Germany have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
